Givescone® (Givaudan)
Product Information:
When is a damascone not a damascone? When it's Givescone! For the uninitiated nose, it would be easy to assume this jammy, fruity chemical was part of the rose ketone family, but it isn't. As a result, you can add it to your perfumes with a clear conscience. There are no IFRA restrictions.
The author of “Perfumery: Techniques in Evolution” describes this as a "well-known chemical that is difficult to describe." " It contains many nuances of damascones and damascenone, but it has a less sharp metallic and more sweet apple note. It combines very well with Undecavertol [.]"
In Armani's My Way (2020) perfume, Givescone is used at 0.2% to enhance the fruitiness of the mixture of damascones and raspberry ketone. In Kurkdjian's Gentle Fluidity Gold (2019) perfume, a higher concentration of 0.8% is used, supported by 38% of sweet musks Helvetolide and Tonalide.
