Z11 (Ambracetal) was initially only sold as part of Firmenich's Fixobois base, and therefore found early use in perfumes such as Chanel No 19. Over time, due to its high strength, the material itself was also released as a 10% dilution in IPM. This is known as Z11 10 MIP (sometimes simply referred to as Z11 MIP).

Z11 10 MIP has a woody-amber and dry scent with a surprising trigeminal effect that induces intense psychological pleasure in those who smell it.

Z11 10 MP offers a powerful and distinct musky scent with creamy, milky undertones and a sophisticated, warm character.

It provides long-lasting musk fixation in quality perfumes, especially effective in white floral and oriental compositions.

Firmenich states that diluting Z11 10 MIP by 10% can double the power of Ambrox. In other words:
