Castoreum Firbest opens with a warm, leathery-animalic character; smoky, phenolic (somewhat resembling calamine lotion) and distinctly reminiscent of traditional castoreum. There are notes of birch tar and a sweet, resinous undertone that softens the smoke. As it develops, a musky sensuality emerges, with fruity hints in the drydown.

This is Firmenich’s Firbest castoreum reconstruction, produced without any animal-derived ingredients. Firbest technology combines natural and synthetic materials to mimic the fragrance profile of traditional castoreum absolute – the warm, animalic, leather-like sweetness that comprises natural castoreum absolute in classic chypre, fougère, and leather perfumes. Use it wherever you need that distinctive smoky-phenolic warmth and animalic depth.

Castoreum Firbest is suitable for a wider range of applications as it has a clearer color than traditional natural extracts.
