Ambergris Tincture 2% (Biolandes)

Product Information:

This ambergris tincture by Biolandes, a luxurious natural grey ambergris, is of marine and animal origin and possesses fecal characteristics. Its ability to enhance (fix) the longevity of perfume is historically renowned, and despite its origin as a pathological metabolite of endangered sperm whales, its use in perfumery is unrestricted (though some countries may have import restrictions on the product).

While there is no strict rule for determining the amount of tincture to use in perfume, we recommend approximately 1-3% of the total alcohol weight. This means you can add 1-3 grams (or ml or drops) of 2% Ambergris Tincture to 100 grams (or ml or drops) of alcohol. Note that you can add much more tincture if desired, especially if you want the ambergris to be easily perceptible as a scent, not just a fixative.

Ambergris tincture offers a complex, sweet, earthy, marine, and musky character with animalic undertones, featuring nuances of warm, sun-bleached wood, dry tobacco sweetness, soft salty sea air, creamy vanilla, and worn leather; it often presents a fleeting, alcohol-like top note initially, which dissipates to reveal a deep fragrance.

A superior natural fixative, it adds a rejuvenating effect, radiance, and longevity to all fragrance families, harmonizing compositions into a cohesive whole.
